Nothing on this dashboard knows where you are. Every value here is the same for every reader on Earth. The one page that does need a location — Tonight — takes it from a form and computes with it in your own browser. Your browser is never asked for your position, nothing is remembered between visits, and no coordinate is ever sent to AsteriaStar or placed in one of its URLs. If you choose to ask for a cloud forecast, your browser requests it from the Norwegian Meteorological Institute directly, with the coordinates rounded to about a kilometre — that is the only time anything you typed leaves your device, it goes to them and not to us, and the exact request is printed on the page.

One satellite, and why
This is a predictedtrajectory interpolated to this instant, not a measurement: NASA's flight operations directorate publishes the station's operational ephemeris as state vectors at four-minute spacing, and the position above sits between two of them. No other satellite is tracked here, because no other satellite has a source of orbital elements this platform can obtain reliably and use within its licence — and inventing pass times for one would be worse than saying so.

NASA regenerates this file every few days and it covers fifteen. Six hours is a small fraction of the interval between publications, and re-parsing five thousand state vectors on every page view would be pure waste.
A predicted trajectory, not a measurement: state vectors from NASA's operational determination and propagation, in the mean equator and equinox of J2000, at four-minute spacing. It covers fifteen days from its creation and NOTHING beyond that — the station manoeuvres, and no position is offered past the end of the file. Positions between tabulated epochs are interpolated by the method the CCSDS standard specifies.
